There’s a bunch of cities that occasionally end up on the difficult to pronounce lists that I don’t understand.
Cuh-hoes it’s practically phonetic!

The best description I’ve heard is they’re Native American words, spelled by the Dutch, and pronounced by Upstate New Yorkers with flat accents

Okay going to nerd and take a guess:
pwee-al-up or pu-al-up

I know puy can be a French term for volcanic hill which given the giant volcano in Washington state would make sense. The French pronunciation is more of PU whereas English is more PWEE.

It was my first time in Texas too. I remember looking out the window as we were landing at DFW and just thinking “man that’s a lot of brown.

There was a park roughly a mile from the hotel so I was thinking I would run there and then around the park. Do you think I could find a safe route?
