the kennedy hasn’t been the same without this mural. i was away in undergrad (nevada) when they painted rodman. the traffic jam over the mural actually made local las vegas news.
the old bigsby and kruthers building adjacent to the I-90/94 expressway in chicago, painted on it is a mural of local pro athletes all wearing a suit, to the left is michael jordan, to the right is (i think) rhyne sanberg, and in the center is dennis rodman with red hair.

screenshot from the “chicago history” page on facebook. it’s a map of the chicago area. encircled is the surrounding suburban areas past the city of chicago with the words written: “not from chicago.” this is an ongoing discussion, that for decades, people who don’t live in the city of chicago act like, or tell others that, they’re “from chicago.” people who live in chicago take exception to this. there’s also a problem with conservative suburbanites who claim they’re “from chicago” so they believe they have valid opinions of the city and its problems despite their limited time spent there. there’s also the issue of people having been born and raised in chicago but now live in the burbs who, in my opinion, can fairly claim they’re from chicago (because i’m one of those people jajaja) it’s just fair for suburbanites to say “im from the chicago area.” simple. easy.

if you can afford them (big if) then CGMs are pretty helpful, in my opinion, to see which carbs and how much of them i can and can’t get away with. also shows how well mounjaro is helping with my blood glucose (very well)
