In the last couple of years I've been catching up on artists that I never got round to seeing back in the day. Saw Ride play in Cologne a couple of weeks ago. They were brilliant - I'm sure they've improved with age. 'Leave Them All Behind' was absolutely epic.

Been reading 'A Manual for Cleaning Women' by Lucia Berlin. As always happens when I stumble across something really great, I thought to myself, 'Why didn't I know about this before?' Gritty, well-observed short stories filled with pathos and laconic humour, about life on the margins.
