having played it a bit more i'm starting to get some la-mulana vibes from this game, because my explorable paths end in like six different rooms and i have no idea what to do in any of them

-- instead relying on familiars to combat enemies and act as problem solving tools... and it also has a cave story-like item level system for its equipment, which threw me off guard

haven't played much yet but there's already been two screens with enemies that chase you and the only item i have is a firecracker so i'm assuming you're not really meant to be fighting things in this game

i also wish i could properly use things like strikethrough text but bsky doesn't seem to have a way to use it that i've seen and copy pasted text from a generator comes out looking weird so it ruins the effect

update: yeah actually this game slaps

the casual nudity is a little weird but ultimately harmless, the existing story (it's not finished yet) is cute, and the boss rush shmup gameplay is addicting

definitely one of my new favorite games, roguelike or no

it might be

i've been thinking of it as a star fox successor but this seems more accurate now that i've looked it up

it's also funny because when you get the option to select an upgrade the game decides to just vomit a bunch of code at you instead of a description so you have to spend a bit of time deciphering the actual effect of whatever you're looking at

when i booted Picayune Dreams up i was expecting more of a regular shmup with psychedelic art and i got a vampire survivors type game instead

which isn't bad but it's funny that it caught me off guard

i got all the achievements on steam but i have like zero mastery of the game

most of them are just "kill X boss" and don't require any kind of investment from the player which is a little disappointing

this one's Mirage Feathers and i find it both funny and concerning that this makes the second game in the same day that has an option to conceal nudity/inappropriate character designs in a non-nsfw game

i've been burned out enough on roguelike gameplay for the past few years that i tend to avoid games that have it as a tag on steam, but i picked this one up on a whim because i saw it in a video and the art looked really cool and i ended up being pleasantly surprised
