Peggy Pryde was born #OTD 1876 in Lambeth. For #songsheetsaturday here's her 'The Song of the Thrush' (1897), also performed by her mother, Jenny Hill. Music by George Le Brunn & words by Walter Hastings, inspired by Charles Reade's 1856 novel 'It's Never Too Late to Mend' partly set in Australia.
