I’m only really familiar with Norfolk’s Chalk Streams & the River Nar at Castle Acre is a beautiful example and easily accessible below the Castle but I’m guessing there’s lots more examples closer to Exeter especially on the Test

Yup I did & personally I prefer Wisteria grown against a wall as it offers protection from late frost which can destroy every flower bud on exposed standards

😢Breaks my heart as these House Martins have returned to their 🪺site to discover the house has been modernised & there excluded from the eaves☹️Hedges ripped out & pond filled in & 🏠is now a holiday home Last year they were 5🪺here & the new owners complained about the mess🤯

All very surreal as I walked across the field & just noticed the odd patch & then there was loads of it🧐I did wonder wether it was something that had been sprayed upon the field but it was everywhere & no smell + it just disappeared when I touched it 🤔

I did what most people do & tried introducing Wild flowers to the Grass Sward after 5 years I released it was never going to work & spent a month removing the top 6” of the soil removing all the vigorous grass nettles & Docks added only Yellow Rattle the Meadow maker😍& the rest all natural seedlings

It’s very difficult to replicate nature but please preserve with it as there were many occasions when I nearly lost hope and gave up When you’re Weed garden gets established you’ll be overwhelmed by how it develops and what pops up @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
