Lover of books. ASOIAF is the best. Cats are great. Dogs are fantastic. Despite my handle, I will never own a gun. I'll likely not post anything more political than that. Unless needed.
I love Goodreads and I always read the reviews of a book I'm about to begin. But I've learned to only read the good reviews. The bad reviews don't understand that a fantasy romance novel is not The Lord of the Rings.

Or that the timeline doesn't perfectly work out...etc.

It's a story. Enjoy it FFS

The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go…

I have lost my belt. I've looked everywhere. How the hell does this happen?

One time, I lost my favorite sweater. I was so confused to how that had happened. Years later, my best friend's sister confessed that she stole it because she liked it so much.

So now I'm wondering...

Wheelchairs don't work well on snow. I just took a 2 mile walk and a third of the side walk was untoched.

To those in the north, shovel your fucking walk.

Some of our neighbors need to get to public transit.

As a Michigan fan, I'll be honest. That was a touchdown.

But I was really hoping the Calvin Johnson rule carried on to college football.

I am thankful for my mom, my dad, both of my brothers, my beautiful niece.

I am thankful for my friends. Online and off.

I am thankful for the LGBTQIA➕️ community.

I am thankful for Bluesky.

I am thankful for the US even when I shouldn't be.

I am thankful for you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

When I read a headline that a woman was set on fire in the Chicago subway, I was more surprised that Chicago has a subway than that a woman was doused and ignited.

I thought it was the L for a reason.

In Grand Rapids, Michigan. City parks are closed during winter.

The parking lots are literally chained up.

I'm no genius but I'm pretty sure you can have fun in the snow.

I'm really enjoying Green Teeth by Molly O'Neill.

It's a very fun story of a lake monster, a witch, and a hob-goblin as they complete quest after quest to reach their ultimate goal of defeating a great evil.

Packed with British folklore and mythology, it stands above many other such retellings.

Dick Cheney was a dick. He earned his name.

Before JK Rowling was a known transphobic, she was also the author of Harry Potter.

I read book one and as a fantasy fan, I found that very disconcerting

Then she turns out to be transphobic too! Talk about a double whammy.
this disclaimer is on the bottom of the menu 🫩 like, i have a better idea: it's called just don't have a harry potter menu

The furniture. I believe that's how GRRM described it once.
My therapist and I have always vibed and been on the same page about everything but today I had to truly consider if we are actually compatible because I had to explain to her the difference between fantasy and sci-fi.

Now that's the end of the season, I'd like to thank my neighbors for their garden. I've picked green bell peppers, red bell peppers, chilli peppers, and jalapeño peppers all season long. Oh also, tomatoes. And cucumbers.

And they haven't given two fucks. Those are good neighbors.

I'm a die hard Tigers fan. I'm now rooting for Seattle. It took them 15 innings to detract those claws.

They deserve that win. They deserve their place.

Sometimes I forget how awful Jaime was. His redemption arc would be ridiculous if it isn't in question.

I just came back from a bike ride to find a fawn... or rather a new doe in my front yard. She dashed away as I approached.

She was a beautiful creature and I wonder what she was doing in the city.

Where is her family?

As a Detroit Lions fan, I love the outcome of SNF. My two least favorite teams... The Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys throwing 40 pts against each other. To end it in OT in a tie.

And yet, it's been well over 12 hours and not a single player from either team has kissed their sister.

If you are looking for a good book series full of murder, evil, shape shifters, and LOL comedy, I recommend the Honey Badger Chronicles by Shelly Laurenston.

I have read thousands of books and I have never laughed so hard while reading these. Oh, and the plot line is good too.

I woke up at 7am to my neighbor's daughters screaming with joy in a ridiculous inflatable jungle gym.

At first, I was annoyed. Now... over 3 hours later, I'm laughing hard. How an inflatable jungle gym can entertain children for so long...it's beyond me. But it is cute.

The one and only time I went to Portland, I was at my first gay wedding reception, looking out the window and watching goats mow down thorns in a vacant lot.

All I could think was "This is fucking Portland"
