STRAIGHT UP MURDER

55 years ago. Remember it only too well. Happening again, in Minnesota. Not Nixon this time. Trump. Noem. The scum at the very bottom of the barrel. I weep for our country.

Russia Once Offered U.S. Control of Venezuela for Free Rein in Ukraine.

The exchange offer was recounted at the time in congressional testimony by Fiona Hill, who ran Russian and European affairs on the National Security Council during Trump’s first term.

It ain't new, Folks. Here's the great Ms. Hepburn enlightening the great Mr. Tracy on Trump, MAGA, & ICE‑‑-1940s version, of course, but she had their numbers all the same. What's that expression about history repeating itself? Vietnam. Afghanistan. Iraq. Venezuela. Trump/Miller grifter thugs.....

Spare me, Bill, you feckin' hypocrite. YOU were the DECIDING VOTE confirming RFK, Jr., HHS Ghoul-in-Chief, to his position. So spare me. YOU are responsible for the deaths (and many future ones) you so decry. Congrats. You should have your license to practice medicine revoked. Typical GOP cretin.
Cassidy is responsible for all the sickness and death that RFK Jr inflicts on the American people.

From today's NYT announcement of Zohran Mamdani's nominee for head of NYC's Corporation Counsel's Office. Hey, Neal Katyal! How's things at Milbank LLP? Done any legal aid for Trump & Co. yet? Anyway. Compare & contrast. I'll go with "Mr. Banks" every time. He's what a real lawyer is all about.

Tom's #4 (D?) is spot on but also illustrates the MAGA Paradox: People who feel they're not given the respect owed them elect & worship a moron who holds them in contempt, never mind respect, & thus prove the veracity of A (#1?). They're akin to the mindless hordes sending dollars to TV evangelists.
4. The most common: People who feel that others do not afford them the respect to which they are entitled or that society is rewarding the wrong people for the wrong things
There are 3 types of Trump supporter.
A. The incurably stupid
B. Those with a financial interest.
C. Those who wish to impose their cultural views on everyone.

Yucking it up at SiriusXM's event for the Dolan replacement, Bishop Hicks (Thanks so much, Pope Leo). Sexual abuser & disgraced Today Show host Matt Lauer laughing it up with rotundly belly-laughing sexual abuse victims' judgment award denier Timothy Ho-Ho-Ho Dolan. Epstein/Dolan. Compare/Contrast.

CBS is lost. Disney already owns ABC. Looking like getting news, real news, is gonna be MSNOW and Bluesky. What the fuck has happened to our country? If any self-respecting journalist on 60 Minutes remains on 60 Minutes after this, they've lost all respect, self- or otherwise. And their souls.

Oh, just fuck off, Rabbi. Over 40,000 dead in Gaza. Talk to the innocent dead women and children about "hateful language." Just fuck off.
Rabbi Amiel Hirsch, @ammihirsch.bsky.social, nails it.
The free Palestine movement feigns care for Gazans, but ignores the suffering of Gazans at the hands of Hamas and exploits that suffering to demonize Jews.
Their hateful language deliberately dehumanizes Jews and intentionally stokes violence.

I'm with you on "Pluribus." But the naysayers will kvetch for MONTHS unless you disengage. So please. Disengage. Where I will engage is on Mayor of Kingstown. Best feckin' season so far. The character arcs are spiraling "[d]ownward to darkness" per Stevens. It's not about plot. It's about character.
I knew the show might not be for me when I saw that it ran an ad for the podcast before each episode.
This isn't graduate film school. I shouldn't have to go to the seminar after the screening to get insight into what's going on after staring at people doing nothing for an hour.

I also have this nightmarish fear that Tom is going to follow his post with a . . . postscript. To wit, that 80s music redeemed pop/rock. May the gods of taste and decent music forfend. . . .
I love the music of the 60s but the top 40 charts of 1970s and 71 and even 1972 are really just leftover 1960s stuff
Smoky Robinson, Tears of a Clown? I've always loved Motown. Smoky, Four Tops were my faves. Though before the era of Motown, The Platters did some of my absolute favorite songs. They were brilliant.

Indeed @radiofreetom.bsky.social. Whether you go with the school that holds McCartney broke the Beatles in early '70 or Lennon several months earlier in '69 or Harrison during the making of the White Album (or Ono on the cursèd day Lennon met her in London), music quit when the Beatles did. Period.

About the best summary of where we are I've read. Succinct. Accurate. Terrifying.
The person charged with enforcing the laws is an open lawbreaker, assisted by a team of open lawbreakers, backed by a Congressional majority indifferent to lawbreaking, supported by a Supreme Court that privileges them to break the law.

It has no legitimacy whatsoever.
The person charged with enforcing the laws is himself a law breaker. In such a state, do laws even have any legitimacy?
