Can you count, suckers?! I say the future is ours, if you can count
I'm hoping he'll issue each of us one of these so we can issue fines for all infractions:

Agree about the recognition. "Woah, I never learned that these guys had genuine blood feuds and killed each other in duels."

"If the President can't shake hands without bruising, is he vigorous enough for the job? Are there other aspects of the presidency he's incapable of performing because of his frailty and age?"

Are probably more vulnerable to online brain rot than the rest of us

My questions to management about "what do we do if they start snatching in NYC like Chicago et al when 70% of my staff have parents or family that is undocumented" continue to go unanswered

Don't mention it to anyone because then I might bring out the gun I keep in my car and wave it around

I'd made a habit of standing behind my female employees breathing heavily and muttering and then screaming at them if they fucked up in a way that only I can perceive and understand

My boss: What should we do instead of a holiday party this year? Everyone always complains that they suck

Me: Give everyone 12/26 off

My boss: Guess we'll just have a shitty holiday party. Let them complain

Youtiao! Youtiao! *bangs fist on table* Youtiao!

It feels regional dependent. I aged at least 6 years living in New York in 2020. Friends in Wyoming had almost no change, except they got a vaccine in a parking lot

Payment processing fees are murdering everything. A municipal version of one would save non-profits, small businesses, etc

Nothing to say that hasn't been said. It's a good movie and I like it! RKO 281 is a pretty fun made for TV movie about it that I also recommend

I can't believe this shit. Not to mention that my friends, family, and my wife's family would have beaten me to death
December 7, 2025 at 4:35 AM
My wife bought me one because I'm always talking about how I want to dress in scumbag 70s chic and, if the zipper was just a little better, it'd be a perfect shirt. That said, if the zipper was a little better, it wouldn't cost $30. It's held up well with care

And not his first try, if the scene with the Choctaw is an indication

Santa's Workshop is in Cordoba.

Yeah, he's an Umayyad prince who fled Damascus

I don't disagree that the Pacific is not vaporized like Europe but the war in each theater was waged incredibly differently and the 'savagery of the Japanese' is critical to the American perception of the Pacific. Hastings's 'Retribution' is a good read for this
December 4, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Hah, I was too; I think we're in similar age cohorts. We covered South Korea, Second Sino-Japanese War, Spain, etc. as part of pre-war/ US Yellow Peril / racism and anti-Japanese sentiment in the US
December 4, 2025 at 5:38 PM
I think this is curriculum / teacher dependent. It was covered at length in my underfunded public school. There were also still a ton of Pacific vets alive in the 90s (my uncle among them), Japanese atrocities were spoken of but impossible to untangle from racism towards the Japanese

The long poles to turn the lathe is genius, minimal effort
December 4, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Fuuuucccck. Can I rewind to 2002 when I could stay up until 3am uniting the Iberian peninsula under the Umayyads with greater al-Andalus stretching from the Pyrenees to the Volga
December 4, 2025 at 4:55 PM
They might not say it but the end credits roll over a sinister shot of it lighting up the entire desert so, uh, I don't know!
