Thanks for telling me what I’m not going to do!

This is like X! Of course I condemn Trump and I expect a statement criticising Trump. Will criticise if none appears. Just saying it might be a more complex process when a government deals with this than a party in opposition.

Problem is he isn’t in power yet. Everything gets more complex when politicians are.

I feel the same about London. I have lived here for 58 years and it can still move me to tears.

Shame. You seem to be in a minority, though.

So many memories - I don’t miss turkey whatever happened to trifles?
I hope you enjoy having Christmas dinner made for you by your son.
May 2026 bring you some unexpected joys after so much grief.

I can remember the feeling as my hand pushed its way to the bottom of the full packet, crushing cereal along the way.

I probably should have told my children to wait until we got to the bottom of the packet but they have turned out to be good citizens!

Yes, I have loved the videos and memories. They provided triggers which helped me remember my children’s early years and childhood, quite moving at times.

So sorry, James, thank you for everything you have posted and for your always thoughtful responses. Take care of yourself amidst it all.

Lovely, as are the wintry scenes in SW London this week.

But I’m only a suburb away from you - I must get up earlier!

I miss frosts!

I am always moved and impressed by the responses of our emergency services to such horrible incidents. Please give them a mention - their jobs are extraordinarily stressful. Even everyday policing is full of danger and uncertainty.

Really bad for the environment though, even if electric. Disturbs habitat of insects and small animals. I leave leaves on garden and they have rotted down by spring.

It’s such a relief that dinner parties seem to have disappeared unless I’m not invited anymore.

I have been vegetarian for 50 years but those fish fingers made me feel hungry!
