I've notices that on ÖBB random trains sometimes don't work. And also that their ticket module is updated less frequently than their timetable module, so if there's a small timetable change, then this may happen as long as they don't update the booking module.

Still lots of free seats on renfe.com, and there's also a later and faster Alvia train. Renfe also warns for partial bus replacement (but from where? Palencia is not on its route) and you need to take Cercanías from Irún.

This is an example; I found it 4 years ago (with some others), reported it, but it's still there. DB give the same connection as ČD. Rail planner app doesn't. Date is 17/2/2025.
RPA may have its own logic to determine minimum connection times, but I'm not sure it's better than relying on MERITS.
