We cannot accept the lame excuses we will be getting. Let’s show our county legislators we are watching and paying attention. Let’s remind them that just yesterday a facility in eagle Lake announced its pending closure.

One would expect legislators to stand up to this AWOL legislator. Instead they caved and claimed they were pressured into the agreement. Their very own colleague is the one who pressured them. Our entire Aroostook delegation voted to default on our bills due our hospitals and nursing homes.

Here’s what went wrong with the vote on the supplemental budget. One member of the committee chose to go to a basketball ball game instead of going to work while his colleagues worked long into the night to reach an agreement. When he showed up the next day he proceeded to sabotage the whole thing.

Meanwhile in Maine, our Republican Legislators made sure that the Supplemental Budget vote failed. The very vote that would have paid the bills we owe to our struggling hospitals and nursing homes. The same budget that was agreed upon in a unanimous bipartisan vote. What could go wrong, you ask.
