“Oh no, they showed us only the most representative bits from the archive!” sounds suspiciously like a brand new standard in 2025 and TBH I’ve never heard of “critics” applying this standard to condemn anyone else other than the BBC in this specific instance, and then only a year after the fact.

I’ve never watched archival footage of, say, the Nuremburg rallies and wondered “where are the missing 50 minutes of the speech that demonstrate Hitler wasn’t such a bad guy?”

I strongly disagree there was any error at all. This was historical footage not reporting of a current news cycle. The entirely appropriate edit gives an accurate & fair summation of Trump’s overall messaging on the day.

His many anti-Palestine tweets post Oct 7 were OTT, unnecessary, and frankly racist.

“Let’s all agree the edit . . . was unprofessional and indefensible.” I don’t agree, this was historical footage edited to accurately reflect the overall tone of Trump’s speech on the day. Would not expect handwringing over clips of Hitler at Nuremberg and if it’s been edited to make him look worse.

And . . . what are you actually going to DO about it? Other than tweet?

The Alameda Green Party totally punted on this one.

BBC was working in the US 24 hours ago - now gone. BBC seems to be in the process of cutting itself off from the rest of the world. I don’t get it.

Hate to say it but most of Ridley Scott’s 2000’s output has not been very good, either.

Does he know that ANSI A size paper is way smaller than ANSI D?

Yet again not AC/DC, despite actively doing live gigs again this year.

Why does the Times feed bother to post stories from the Athletic, which most readers don’t subscribe to and therefore can’t access?

I would happily see CA tax dollars redirected to UC to fill the funding void left by the Feds pulling research grants. Surely money from the State would come with fewer strings attached anyway. How about a temporary tax on my vehicle to fund green energy research at UC while Trump is President?

Also, since when does a semi-retired professor pose a potential threat to the safety of the student body? Or is it rather the case that the “Berkeley 160” are simply a random sampling of individuals who disagree with Trump and American foreign policy. Specifically one policy, in particular?

Where is @scottwiener.bsky.social denouncing this?

More people died of Covid under Biden than under Trump. Science tells us that the Dem policies were not restrictive enough. Does solving a political identity crisis mean chasing votes rather than protecting public health?

What the hell is up with that image? Looks like aliens, not Mancs.

“Most athletic budgets are covered by donors” is not really true. A few high profile football head coach salaries maybe. But wouldn’t it be better if all that supposed free flowing booster and TV money were to help bolster the budgets of universities as a whole, not just the men’s football team?

Without question, one of the very worst live acts I’ve ever witnessed. Small club, sang along to his own CD, complained when he made the CD skip as he started dancing.

Lived in Philadelphia for several years. Never heard of it. Was not on the menu of any pizza place in a 3 mile radius of my neighborhood.
