I like wildlife, and wildlife gardening in particular. I want to know what comes to my garden during the day and at night (moths, V61). Amateur photographer. South-East Yorkshire, UK.

Yep, very few moths where I am too. And it wasn't cold.

Thank you. After a long day at work, I didn't want to photograph a feisty moth. But now I'm ready in my mind for when I get my next one.

🤣 It's just a matter of time. Though, it's unclear how much time.

Yesterday evening, an hour after putting the trap out, I spotted a Brindled Green NFG on the wall. When I removed it from the pot earlier, it was active right off the bat, so I was unable to get many shots of it.

Thanks. This time of year, I try to find little victories.

Last year, I didn't get a Merveille du Jour, but the year before, I did get a few. I haven't seen many Angle Shades this year. Maybe two.

Thanks. And none of us like Wogans. Five was the most I've had in a row this year.

🤣 Everybody gets Wogans, especially when the year is just getting started. Good luck tonight.

Although I would have preferred it to be a Merveille du Jour, I must be satisfied because it's a new tick for the garden. A Merveille du Jour is probably imminent because the green moths I've been getting keep getting greener.
rwhooster.bsky.social
That must be frustrating.

Thanks. It's not common where I live, so I'm very pleased.

Due to a single Lunar Underwing in the trap, I barely avoided Wogan's visit this morning.

I just checked on the trap, which is out again tonight, and I noticed a Brindled Green on the wall. A new moth for my garden. This moth has been on my wish list for ages. #teammoth

Yes, I thought the same thing when I trapped it. Thanks.

There's an unspoken rule that says you have to photograph every Canary-shouldered Thorn you see. Although it was trapped in September, I never uploaded any pictures of it.

Okay, that's good to know. Thanks.

Your comment "tearing through the adult" had me confused until I noticed your correction. It boggled my mind. 😅

I'll look into how to take care of a tenanted leaf when I get one, thanks.
