Right Where Left Meets

Center-Left. Sad state of current politics forces all aware citizens to make their voices heard. Proud Canadian who has always loved our American friends and family.
The vast majority of MAGA are severely underestimating the effects that tariffs will have. Couple that with the increasing drive for all other western countries to align trade away from the USA, it's going to be brutal I think.

I was saying this 3 weeks ago, now its looking absolutely GRIM for American tourism.

Overwhelming mistrust or frustration in legacy media reporting. Independent media is taking market share everyday!

Trumps tried and true playbook.

Yet another successful move by far right media, to create voter apathy in those folks. The belief that somehow the Biden/Harris admin was comparable or worse on foreign policy is utter madness.

All competent leaders around the world know exactly how to play Trump like a fiddle! Its hilarious and sad, at the same time.
February 4, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Disgusting move, he held the power to stop this moving forwards, and by all accounts its on him.

Even conservative, Trump supporters are realizing this in Canada. Its changed how people shop and regard cross-border vacays/trips.

I chuckled when I read the release, of COURSE he takes credit for it now. Just a show. I hope overall tariffs can be avoided, I worry most for the manufacturing sectors. It would be catastrophic on both sides.

Canadians don't easily forget! Even IF tariffs are never levied, the damage is done.
February 4, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Its almost as if its a shadow tax levied to the masses for $100s of billions, to pay for his upcoming tax breaks for corps and billionaires.

Noticeably quieter from the convoy crowd. On the other hand, engaged, ordinary Canadians fear and are disgusted with what is happening to the fascist swing with Trump. They realize it could happen here too.

Really has a punchable face. Dont he?

Surprisingly, to Trump's credit (hard to find these days), so far his administration has taken steps to maintain and increase pressure on Putin's war in Ukraine.

I'm all for a steep tariff on Tesla, and on Ford shredding this deal with Starlink, yet another move for Canada to have. Especially pending response or escalation from the US.
February 2, 2025 at 8:00 PM
100% this and I see it plain as day. Just hard to swallow
February 2, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Its a strongman approach to everything, at the cost of everything. No integrity, class or empathy leads to this. And you're right, his base is enjoying it, until it starts to hit home. Only question is, can their media spin it enough they don't realize what's actually causing the hardships?
February 2, 2025 at 5:55 PM
A unified Canadian approach to the US tariffs is absolutely needed, and so far, Ford has shown to be a solid part of it. Its in his and everyone's best interests.
