While Strange Pictures was a better mystery and a more satisfying story, I think Strange Houses is more fun just by how batshit it is. There’s a family who makes really convoluted houses so they can hide their crimes and secret Murder Child? Sure, why not

I was skeptical at first cuz the whole ‘kids drawings reveal the hidden darkness in their hearts’ shtick makes me roll my eyes, but once all the pieces start coming together it becomes a real page turner. I dont think its a perfectly executed mystery, but its a gripping one

14. Pokepath TD

a fun little time sink. the lategame gets really grindy because you will need lv100s to beat all the bosses, so you better hope you get an early persian for the money. i like that a lot of less 'popular' mons are actually really good in this game, maractus and sunflora were my mvps

also major props to the yokai characters' full monster forms actually looking monstrous. there's none of that cutesy kemono monster girls here and i respect it

i think it wouldve been a bit more interesting if her relationship with Shiori leaned more into some toxic co-dependence and Shiori stringing her along with the promise she never intends to keep. but thats just me not being overly interested in straightforward romances and liking messy dynamics lmao

however, i kinda wish there was a bit... more, to her character? her personality and attitude absolutely makes sense in the context of her backstory and what she's been through, but as a protagonist in a story she's very passive and less compelling than the other two leads

Miko and Shiori both steal the show for me, they have a really good dynamic and work as interesting foils for one another. Hinako also feels like a very accurate depiction of someone who is traumatised and suicidally depressed to me, and in that sense i think she's very well written
