Odd to put him on the bench, then...

My bet is he gets some time this weekend.

Practically, yes, but if Bayern win both of their games and best us by 7 goals, they could get top.

At the very least they have to run out a stronger side against Galatasaray if this result holds up.

Results this year not only show the lower quality of a City team, but more importantly, will create a mental vulnerability.

Wolves are going to feel much better about this weekend (on more rest and no mid-week travel to the Artic circle) if this result holds up, or even if City turn this around.
January 20, 2026 at 6:38 PM
Holy shit. I just turned it on.

I don't care about this result except that, if the results stay like this, it will create a real self-doubt that will last for a while.

Wolves can watch this game and have a little optimism about this weekend....

Roberts to his clerks- "Is there a way we can allow this so Trump can do it but no Democrat in the future can do it?"

This is helpful. Thanks

Any way to get the highest percentage of winning the league Arsenal have had the last few years?

Opta has them at 90% and I don't remember it being that high at any point in the last few years.
January 19, 2026 at 5:50 PM
You da best.
January 18, 2026 at 6:45 PM
Can we get a 'if the teams get the same points on the remaining games as they had last year' post?
January 18, 2026 at 6:39 PM
Don't spoil his pantomime panicking with logic.

Don't jinx it...

This. They spent ridiculous amounts (that they admit to) and are suspected to have spent way more under the table to build up a massive infrastructure, academy, coaches etc; they want credit for only having to pay for upkeep in the last 5 years on the corrupt castle they built the prior 10 years.
January 17, 2026 at 12:21 AM
More explicit- City's 'surplus' transfer fee balance does not account for the tens/hundreds of millions they've paid over and under the table.
January 16, 2026 at 8:17 PM
This is possible. I used to think all this noise about Pep leaving after this year is because he knows the decision will be coming soon and wants to get out before the guillotine falls, but I suppose it's possible that they are spending like drunken sailors for that exact same reason.
January 16, 2026 at 4:23 PM
I feel like they must know nothing is going to come of this, given they spent $500m in a year.
January 16, 2026 at 4:10 PM
Out there for one reason- to try to get GM sent off.

Didn't work.
January 14, 2026 at 9:12 PM
Felt like a makeup call for yesterday's decision.
January 14, 2026 at 9:04 PM
Just straight up mafia shit.
January 13, 2026 at 2:22 AM
I've never felt closer to you.

(1000 year old crusader voice)- Hutchinson chose.....poorly.
January 9, 2026 at 10:15 PM
Exactly right.

City went to the Emirates, had basically one shot on goal, was fine with ~35% possession. Slot saw that, got no shots on goal, better possession but with effectively the same result.
January 9, 2026 at 4:40 PM
I'm hoping that this reflects a psychological problem that will continue- if City know they are worse in the second half, and their opposition knows it (and both Brighton and Chelsea certainly acted that way), hopefully they continue to give up late goals and drop points.
January 9, 2026 at 3:39 PM
This exactly.
January 8, 2026 at 10:35 PM
Would have loved a win, but we were off it, didn't lose and still are at 86% chance. We 100% would have taken this position a few weeks back.
