Really disappointing by @jamestalarico.bsky.social here. This story is firmly rooted in Christian antisemitism and ignores Jewish interpretation and history. James could make this point in a way just as culturally salient but sans antisemitism.

Reading The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine. One thing I’m already seeing is the way that dates of Arab resistance as the “key moments” have been used to obscure Zionist and Israeli use of state power to disenfranchise Palestinians and “cleanse” them from the land.

Comment by @Alagai.bsky.social “Naw, it’s just self righteous all-conservatives-are-guilty stuff.” This is in the context of me trying to get Tom Nichols to be honest about his inability to to draw a link from Reagan to Trump and unwillingness to admit Reagan’s “anti-government” rhetoric was fueled by anti-Civil Rights and anti-New Deal goals. The same goals as the Trump Admin.

Truth is I think it’s both. Tom does believe Vietnam was a just war AND he is using Vietnam to obscure Reagan’s other anti-government language.

I play Warhammer Fantasy (Now Warhammer The Old World since it got rebooted). I have…too many armies. I used to care exclusively about playing and painted just to get it good enough to make the game feel real (no grey tide). Now I enjoy assembly and painting much more.

I accidentally swiped to discover and saw this.

But I want to be clear. Antisemitism isn’t caused by Netanyahu or Israel’s actions. Anti-Israel sentiment may be caused by that, but not antisemitism.

Antisemitism causes antisemites to associate all Jews as responsible for Israel. It’s dumb.
