If they have a boom mic stand or something similar, you could hang the wire from that to give you freedom of movement.

That's more than fair. I'll keep that in mind if I ever get into watercolor beyond using it for quick sketching.

Worst case scenario, I think spray on varnish should work just fine with watercolor? Not too familiar with varnishing watercolor myself. I use acrylic paints mostly.

If you aren’t intending on selling these, they could be used as a test. Possibly a second phase test after you make some junk art and test that first a few times.

Varnishing them might help. Plus, as long as you are honest about the longevity of the originals, I don’t think there is anything wrong with selling the originals if you want to. But choosing not to sell them is valid too.
