The weak-handed responses to expansionist ideas (abroad and domestically) is what will inevitably drag us into more wars.

Our history of allowing presidential wars ex parte to congressional declarations has again caught up to us.

Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lybia, Syria, etc.

Since WWII, Congress has shirked their duty to hold POTUS accountable for stealing Article I powers.

Why should Venezuelans suffer this

So how long does the international sphere allow countries to play this game?

If we tolerate the idea of Ukraine, Taiwan, Palestine having no political autonomy - it will spread.

Any nation with greater military strength could attempt to annex a weaker neighbor under this same logic.

If you recall, he was asked earlier this year if he had to and said almost verbatim “I don’t know, I’m not a lawyer”

I think Dec 19th approximately. Depending on when POTUS actually signed the bill.

Maximum of 30 days to release was unfortunately the parameter written into the bill that passed.

So the administration went with giving themselves the maximum amount of time.

Wish the bill enforced a shorter timeline.

Hey Matt, awesome article to highlight!

You've reminded me: This summer I had the pleasure of listening to a really great talk by Helen Lu from Columbia's BME dept. Her group is working in this area with a focus on sustainability:

“Vaccines” have existed for a millennium (variolation in ~900 CE). Now their efficacy is under fire because a subset of the population is too scientifically illiterate to understand their workings. Too uninformed to understand their life-saving history. And too apathetic to care that people will die

Thank you for bringing light to Lt Collins and his legacy. I was a UMD undergraduate student when he was murdered on our campus - it was horrific. Watching the progression over the years has demonstrated an important lesson: justice is slow, but it will come.
