I’ve been screaming at the rooftops the past few days about how this is just textbook gaslighting. A family member of mine messaged me and tried to gaslight me with insane religious rhetoric and demanding civility to “Charlie”. They acted like he was some personal friend. It was F’d.

The only reason anyone in the conservative space (right wing, republican, far-right, Christian nationalist, etc etc) screams for civility, or says that ‘we can have different opinions and still be friends,’ or anything of the like, just want space to say the things Kirk said on a daily basis.

It was a surprising experience. I think it made me realize too that I am all over the place and need to just pick a space and focus on that. Substack sort of gives me the best of both worlds. A good space for the written word, clean, and space for video and podcasting.

I also think that because of this, I am losing sight of the kind of work I want to produce, while simultaneously refining my vision of what this is. I wouldn't have considered Substack in a serious way even though I've definitely thought about it a lot. But then I tried it, and I loved it.
