NEXT SATURDAY, Nov 22 I will be a guest at BIG APPLE COMIC-CON, held at the swanky New Yorker Hotel. I'm breaking out my fancy plaid suit for this one! Imagine getting a commission from THIS GUY:

Retailer Incentive Variant Cover for THE COMIC BOOK HISTORY OF ANIMATION #5 (IDW, April 2021)
My favorite thing about this cover is I got away with drawing EIGHT different trademarked properties on it and the publisher absolutely did not have the license for any of them.

All the neighborhood kids had intense debates over wtf was happening with that ending - I just liked all the robots, the cool double barreled laser guns and that awesome giant fireball
My brother inexplicably had EVERY printed media of The Black Hole: pop-up, story book, coloring book, comic, etc

I clearly said "not without their charms"

I loved the shit out Star Wars when it came out. I was 6 years old. After that I was a total mark for anything sci-fi so I saw all of these between the releases of Star Wars and Empire. They were not without their charms, but even as a little kid I was bored.

"Cringerfield" drawn by me for ToyFare Magazine, 2005-ish. I think this was the first "mash-up" comic strip I did for them!

Stopped in to the Time Warp McDonalds near my doctors office because how could I not?! (but I only got a coffee)

ICYMI - I have a new portfolio website for my illustration work, comic books projects and links to all the stuff I'm associated with. It's a lot like my old site, just faster and clearer.

Yeah I just love that whenever I get a spam text and I also have to wait through this performative NCIS TV Hacker Screen nonsense to find out where it came from.

I KNOW IT ONLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO ACCESS THIS INFO WHY MUST YOU WASTE MY LIFE WITH THIS EARLY 90'S CD-ROM LOADING HORSESHIT?🖕🖕

OH SHIT here's me and Fred at the Action Philosophers/Royal Flush table at MoCCA Art Fest 2007: 2 months after my mom dying of cancer, 1 month after my son was born, 1 month before we put out the last "floppy" of Action Philosophers *and* I was doing a ton of artwork for Wizard Mag. I look so tired.

Post you from a different era.
Me and my mom at a picnic, 1991. I was 20 years old and working full-time as a line cook (I'm even wearing my work shirt in this photo) and was seriously considering ditching art school for a culinary career. Mom wanted me to finish school. She was right.

Agreed and just the fact that DC animated universe got made at all AND ended up being as good as it was is a damn miracle. Batman, Superman, Justice League and the 2003 Titans were all top tier shows. 30 years later and many episodes (including that one) still give me chills. Just great television.

Twilight Zone: The Movie, in the theater. I was 12. I'd only ever seen gentle G and PG movies before this. Absolutely harrowing.

YES, MINDWIPE IS 100% REAL:

Also, his head is a separate, smaller robot. Not sure how that works, but I love it.
I was trying to find the incredible intro clip from the cartoon, but the wiki will just have to do.
I love this ridiculous, fictional robot character so much.

2 years ago I was commissioned to draw "your favorite Transformer character".
So of course, I went with MINDWIPE: the vampire bat Decepticon with mind control powers that talks like Bela Lugosi.
