I briefly used dvc with a previous team but found it a bit clunky and haven't paid attention to development since. This feels the next big data tooling idea, and I've always been surprised it wasn't already a thing. Have you tried dvc (lakefs appears to be a commercial version)?

Good point. I think search is the right analogy for these tools so I like the idea of including them in traditional search engines, but there are issues with that as you mention.

How is this any different than legacy Google search? There's a source that has a made up fact and it was retrieved. Is AI supposed to add a veil of legitimacy to the process?

I don't know about Apple and Peloton formats, but if you're a Data person you'll really appreciate Garmin's fit file format. It's open, well-documented, and has a python SDK (and a good open source R implementation). Sensor data is included (I use a hrm). Makes analyzing your workouts really easy!
