Let me introduce myself. I'm a professor @usask.bsky.social at the University of Saskatchewan. My group works on invasive wild pigs, caribou, wolves, and other beasties. I take the responsibility of my academic freedom very seriously and use it and good science to hopefully have some influence.

I would have more but Sask has not been good at making covid vaccines broadly available. I have heard stories of how many unused shots ended up in the garbage when people wanted and needed them.

I'm all booked for a flu shot AND covid booster next week.
How many covid boosters am I going to get? Every goddam one I'm eligible for, most likely for the rest of my life. This one will be #8 and counting.

In 1979 my parents bought me this bike and what a doozy it was- banana seat, chain guard, hand brakes. At one point even got a light that worked off the spinning front wheel. We all attached AM/FM portable radios to the handlebars.

My coolness peaked 46 years ago.

The Nonsuch at the Manitoba Museum is unreal! I've been going since I was 7 years old and I'm still impressed. It is so well set up and you can actually go onto the ship and visit below deck.

After earning her Master's in 1951, she began working at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic where she eventually became the chief medical physicist.
It was in that role she developed the world's first cobalt-60 unit, which used targeted radiation to treat cancer in a patient.

A black-and-white photograph of two individuals working with a large piece of scientific equipment. One person, wearing a dark jacket with a crest and a skirt, is kneeling and operating the machine, while the other, dressed in a suit and tie, is kneeling and holding a device, possibly a microphone or control, near the equipment's overhead component. The setting appears to be a laboratory or technical workspace.
