If you can get comfortable with being bad at things in public, you will stop holding yourself back and supercharge your growth.

One of the most frustrating things I see are from people who want to progress but don't take any of the opportunities around them.

They think that at a certain point someone will just tell them they are at the next level.

Ask your team: “What did a former manager do that you valued, that I haven't adopted yet?” and learn from leaders you've never met

Ask people about where they are going, not just where they are now.

You are hiring someone who is growing, and you want to see that their growth plans will work with yours.
