@davidmcraney.bsky.social or anyone else know of any good books or podcasts that breakdown how Media from newspapers, books, radio, movies, TV, all the way to social media have influenced society? Stuff people like Hitler and Western books, Ten Commandments movie, AM radio shows, etc.

I'm curious about the effect of media on society and our perceptions of history and current events. We would likely not have today's controversy surrounding the Ten Commandments if not for the historically inaccurate and very fictionalized Charlton Heston movie of a historically inaccurate story.

Seeing @mikeflanaganfilm.com reposting reviews from Life of Chuck reminded me how much I enjoyed the movie myself. Mike is my favorite director and I appreciate all the great acting. Good movie all the way through. Three parts. First one is confusing but then it all makes sense by second.
