Writer, lover of cats (and just all animals), gamer of games.
There's nothing quite like reading all day long, working on your Pathfinder/Starfinder Campaigns, and staring out the window at times.

My simple GM rules: The games can always be better. More immersive. More detailed. More thoughtful. A better experience overall. The GMing journey is never over.

Today: I spent about 2/3 hours on a module in FoundryVTT only to realize after that it is in fact, Not compatible with V13. More chronicling of GM work that will inevitably not end up in my game.

Doing the right thing for the right reasons will never be easy, that's not how it works. Your goodness is rewarded with more difficulty, that's just how fate is and she smirks to join battle with those of honor.

Write something wholly you. Write what you want, what is your entire being.
Those that proclaim loudly they've been published and are "official," well done.
But to those that do this for fame and fortune, to be official, or even a living, what can I say?
Some things are outside acquisitiveness.

I've recently picked up R.A. Salvatore's Drizzit series again. Re-reading the Dark Elf Trilogy for the 5/6th time? Is like re-uniting with an old friend from your younger years and reliving some of the best of times when you were just a young guy.

So, I've begun my journey reading independent writers. Its been a curious beginning.

There is far more to say, but regardless of my ultimate opinion on the matter, it is an achievement to have written as much as this person has. I'll save my thoughts and responses for fan mail.

An issue I've encountered with anyone receiving any amount of criticism. If you have to explain your reasoning, something that should have either been interesting or answered at some point in your endeavor, then sadly I'm of the opinion that your story/art has failed in some sense.

I am the mythical wizard of bread! Come and let me bake you a tale of sweet oatey goodness!
Yes, this is AI generated. I am no artist, but I suppose let this be the first rendition for when I actually pay a living artist (which I do plan on doing.)

Maybe there's some value in writing countless stories and words only to work on the next project.

To start afresh and craft something polished after years of tarnish?

Reading and hearing of all my fellow writers picking up old manuscripts and running with them for years, I'm starting to wonder...

It's a delicate balance when it comes to writing...anything, especially fiction. How much do you describe how someone talks? Do you add more adjectival prose or less? Is your story stuttering? Stilted? Struggling? Confused? I have no good answers. But I do have a keen eye :D

So much of human history really is dependent on the type of hat one wears. Just go to any themed gathering or celebration, and search for the mythical hats.

I've noticed a lot of "technically" adept indie writers and story tellers. I see the beats and points you're all hitting. From the youtube and tiktok posts. In the end, there is no definitive law to writing. Write in your voice with your cadence. If you do it with flourish damn everything else.

I once saw a post, somewhere in 'ye olde' facebook days where a woman said she could not stop reading unless she got to the next chapter. I blanch now to wonder how she would master the behemoth that is Gibbon's "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire."

I enjoy all Genres. When I'm told "maybe that's just not my style," I have encountered most styles and found niches in each I enjoy.
...
But there are definitely some genres I enjoy more.

If we fall and take a tumble, as most of 2025 seems to be doing, rise back up and continue the fight. My little Daruma and reminder.

You know what? I'm not sore or resentful. I'm not. I could end up unhoused, struggling to find food. Struggling to make ends meet. Struggling to afford groceries, struggling to keep going. (1/4)

That was her idea, she has her rifle, and knows(poorly) how the bullets work, so she figured what if I put gunpowder in the beehive, and cork it, sadly a nat 1 and a poor attempt to make a beehive grenade ended up with the entire party rolling damage

I remember, and hopefully will continue again, creating "letters" to my players from in-world people/organizations. This was something I always found immersive and enjoyable. #pathfinder #GM
