Oh sweet! What form do I have to fill out? I'd love to just be a random Ashkenazim.

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

Please somebody, tell me how.

How can this be real life?

Of course they'll break the rules. So, write rules under color of a law with a harsh punishment and a long statute of limitations.

Putting the garbage into a bag doesn't get it out of the kitchen, but it does make the job easier once you've finally summoned the will to put your shoes on.

Yes. This. 100% this.

Thanks to technology rapidly getting better, the initial deposit keeps getting smaller, and the payments keep getting bigger. It's not a very exciting investment, but it's a solid one.

Contrast that with the economics of fossil fuels, where instead of getting a dividend every month, you get a bill.

The economics of solar is actually very similar a defined benefit pension. You know, the ones that nobody gets to have anymore because they're too good.

You put a fixed amount of money in, and you get a monthly stream of payments denominated in kilowatt hours which your utility converts into cash.

I started my Ph.D. in plasma physics, hoping to join the generation of researchers who save the world by finally bringing us clean, renewable energy.

Then my mom asked for help designing her rooftop solar, and I did the math.

Folks, I have a Ph.D. in microbiology. That is how right Alec is.

In a sane world, the first phrase that should come to mind when people start talking about housing affordability is "no-fault cramdowns."

If you live in a regular house, it's not your fault that you were forced to take out a mortgage on an overpriced asset. But it is SOMEONE'S fault.

Minnesotans don’t want ICE to abduct our neighbors a little differently.

We want all of it to stop. And we’ll keep doing everything we can to make that happen. If you’re outside of the state, you should too.

But, if something about Arch or Nix or Fedora or Pop_OS really interests you, the right distro for you is the one you enjoy. Some get really into their distro's philosophy, and that's great.

I guess I'm happier with pretty boring OS setup, because most of my personalization lives in ~/*.conf.
