The reality is that a disproportionate amount of wealth generated by the working class goes directly to the pockets of the richest Americans, who in turn, use that money to sponsor politicians who can effectively keep us focused on culture war distractions.

We need to demand better.

About half of us live paycheck to paycheck, and our politicians would like us to believe that it's because of that $9,000. They scapegoat immigrants and "welfare queens" for taking our hard earned money. But what we should really be asking is what happened to that $118,000?
