You can’t prevent something like trump if you don’t fix voting and strengthen the other branches, *especially* with regards to representation. Too much power has been ceded to the Executive Branch.

Choosing the Voting Rights Act, Civil Rights Act, and the Equal Rights Amendment, just for starters. Then fix congressional house proportionment, and the Supreme Court.

Thank you for the correction. I was working from memory, and that was what I was thinking of. Notable, though, is that he’s been talking about being president since the ‘80s.

He ran in the 2000 election in the Reform Party ticket with Pat Buchanan. Something everyone seems to forget. So, exactly, he’d never have won except on the ticket as a major party candidate, because there is no viable path for a third party candidate to be abiding but a spoiler in the USA.

The drone technology Iran has is based at least partly on reverse engineering ours, after they successfully spoofed GPS to down a Reaper during Obama’s second term. Of course the Houthi are having an easy time shooting them out of the sky. They don’t need DUI Pete telling them anything.

There was a Chinese restaurant in my hometown some 40 years ago that made THE BEST vegetarian mu shu I have ever eaten in my life. I have NEVER had anything that came even remotely close.

These are people who would read a critique of the “Foundation” series and believe that psychohistory could be an actual scientific endeavor. Using history to inform your predictions of the future is useful, but relying on it to actually predict the future?
