I get why we have the “shitty first draft” language (anxiety & pressure reduction, great), but oh how I hate it.

What about a tender first draft. What about a fresh first draft. Dewy. Just spun. A spiderweb. A draft of sunlight. A pile of leaves. You rake your fingers through them and they rustle.
