Yeah that's fair! In the earlier chapters I could see where Gege was trying to improve upon some issues in JJK, such as by giving more worldbuilding and character interaction, but more recent chapters feel like falling into bad habits (such as making choices that feel like they're for shock value)

My friend joked that Modulo is a story that Mahito made up and is telling Sukuna in limbo, and honestly that would explain a lot about it 😔

Throwing in Yuka dying of cancer, Yuuji still suffering and being isolated for much of his life, the aliens being More Powerful and Special than the original characters and Yuta's grandkids not being as likeable to me as the original MCs... I can't bring myself to still have an open mind about it.

I entered the series tentatively because of Gege introducing aliens and other worlds when the worldbuilding of the setting itself was already undercooked. And I disliked that Yuta and Maki ended up becoming powerful clan figures because I felt like that went against themes of original JJK.

Okay I was mainly talking about reddit but yeah true twitter is more illiterate. And it's true that even if people *are* being ironic, it's still annoying to bring up the joke when someone wants to sincerely discuss Megumi.

Yeah I see Todo as a switch, I find I have an easier time writing him as a bottom with Kamo and a top with Yuuji though I do hope to write reversals of those dynamics eventually.
