Looks great. What do we do about my kid’s school? It takes up most of the block but several large buildings are at one end on the same side, and the entire opposite side of the street is 2-4 family houses.

But the premise too: Mandani’s perfectly acceptable, milquetoast explanation makes it not really a story as written. More accurate framing would be “stolen student data from elite university shows the difficult choices applicants make with complex identities and few options to express them.”

I read the article, and this just doesn’t seem like news after hearing Mamdani’s milk toast explanation.
This story should t have been a scoop but a thoughtful dive into the complexities of race in America. You missed that opportunity.

how does the AZ and other laws treat “reduce your property value” in the near vs long-term? In my urban neighborhood, an up zoning *could* decrease values immediately with new housing but increase values within just a few years from greater desirability due to viability of commercial spaces.

Could be. Either way, a max of 45k (4% of the 1M votes in all) who didn’t rank multiple is still pretty good success of RCV voting. 96% adoption or more is great.

Seems like 45k this time didn’t rank Cuomo or Mamndani anywhere on their ballot. I wonder if they ranked anyone at all beyond their first choice.

Interesting how little it changed re Cuomo vs Mamdani. A little wonky here, but with r1 results being 43.5-36.5% for the top candidates, they each got 54% and 45% of their collective total. In R3, it was 56-44.

So why the fixation on out of state donations if they don’t total much and are eclipsed by in-City donations?
