With deep sadness, we announce the passing of retired K9 Astro of the Folsom Dam Security Bureau. Beginning his service in 2013, Astro worked with exceptional dedication alongside Deputy Neverve and remained a steadfast presence until his retirement. Thank you, Astro.

This week, we welcomed some new faces to our family! Our newest volunteers have successfully completed the Volunteer in Partnership training and are now ready to support our service centers. We appreciate the community members who donate their time to serve the community and the Sheriff’s Office.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the La Mesa Police Department as they grieve the loss of Officer Lauren Craven, who was killed in a collision on October 20, 2025. We are heartbroken by this loss and stand with her family, friends, and the entire department as they navigate this time.

We would like to introduce Class 25-SBRA-03 of 54 new recruits as they begin their Day 1 of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Training Academy. This six month training program will push them to their limits and we are so proud to be instilling greatness and excellence into these recruits.
