Beautiful day for a walk and smoke here in the mid-Atlantic.
Punch 48 ( March 2024 box date). Classic Cuban flavor, this one shows hints of sweet leather, marzipan, deep toast, and aging tobacco. Draw is slightly form, but produces decent smoke.
This one is a keeper.

Barrel should be bottled in this spring. Looking forward to an official review of it.

Would recommend. The food and beer were excellent, and Cushwa Brewing has a great event room. I’ll be back.

This is 1/3 of the slab of pork belly. Cured with curing salts for 1 week, then smoked over post oak for 2 hours. Will be slicing it later this evening.

Finish: very long, with lingering cinnamon and light oak

Like an apple pie in a glass!
I honestly wasn’t big on this one when I first got it, but it has grown on me. Definitely needs to open up before drinking, or it starts out astringent. But with some air, the VDN influence shines through and it is darn tasty. Glad I had it, but won’t be chasing more
