mangohud is great, but it doesn't hard clamp like RTSS does, so you may get those spikes if your machine is struggling with a particular game (sometimes it makes things worse! i don't get it!)

unless some godforsaken variable exists somewhere, which i think is an issue if that indeed is the case

that's a good recommendation but it doesn't solve the problem i have as its framerate clamping is still not equivalent in my experience

i'm sensitive to microstutters from high fps deviation, i like locking around 1% lows depending to avoid that (sub 60 if needed, i'm on oled so it all looks good)

proton is a god send and i don't mind tinkering, but the regular user will not want to have to go to a specific website(s) to make sure their games run correctly and have all the features they should have (hdr, fsr4)

and there is no equivalent to RTSS, mangohud does not hard clamp fps like it does

drive mounting is annoying as fuck, they should auto mount by default with the ability for a user to disable that if desired

there are really no equivalents for photoshop/mspaint, gimp is capable but obtuse and man i miss mspaint for quick cropping/resizing
