Tory Party members currently clapping like seals after everything their current leader says in her speech at their conference. They might be clapping but how many of them are planning to defect to Reform or swap her for someone else?

From what we know and have seen of the way Israel conducts itself, it seems certain that the report is factual. It doesn’t help Israel’s case by still not allowing reporters into Gaza Why not? Are they trying to hide something?

We remember
#RejoinEU

Every time you hear #StopTheBoats remember this: #Brexit tore up the tool that actually stopped them.
And now the same people want us to leave the #ECHR.
Ask yourself why the parties of the right - of big business and billionaires - want to reduce and remove your human rights.
saddletramp.bsky.social
The Conservatives are proposing to leave the ECHR if they get elected which is like a couple splitting up because on of them left the cap off of the tooth paste. The ECHR might not be perfect and it might need tweaking but it’s still worth fighting for.

It seems to me, whatever the US thinks and does automatically ensures the we in the UK follow suit shortly after. That being so, even though we have watched Trump and his disastrous policies unfold, we’re almost certain to elect Reform at the next GE. I really hope i’m wrong.

Well done you too. The more people who get jabbed, the better our immunity will become. The virus can’t survive if it can’t find a host.

If you lost your sense of taste and smell, the evidence points more likely to Covid as it is those symptoms that generally distinguish between Covid and flu. Not 100% but a possibility that it was a very early Covid infection.

Both myself and my wife had it probably at about the same time as you and crucially before it was officially announced to be here. My wife still talks about the time “when she nearly died”. She wasn’t hospitalised thankfully and she’s pretty fit but she was very sick.
saddletramp.bsky.social
Maybe because by then you’ll be in or very near the 3 month delay period?
saddletramp.bsky.social
Maybe it’s worse in some individuals. I was recently talking to my daughter’s friend who arrived with her young son to announce she has got Covid. Nothing more than a sore throat. I was concerned about her irresponsibility but I don’t seem to have caught it. Maybe this was your first infection?

That’s great news and a great outcome. Last I heard, my pal was still trying to get his money back from the insurers. He didn’t have enough money on his card to cover the bill at the time and luckily his wife had hers with her. He’s fully recover now but still much poorer.

From what I know, you are advised to wait 3 months after infection before getting a Covid jab because you will be immune. The immunity should offer up to 85% protection for up to 10 months from a really serious Covid variant. It’s not guaranteed as we’re all different. Your choice.

Maybe but it seems the Covid jab eligibility is similar across most European countries and the eligibility for the flu jab is generally wider, so that seems unlikely. They say they only target the most vulnerable and to provide it to everyone would be too costly and unnecessary.

My pal had a similar episode on a cruise off Florida. He reported sick and they wouldn’t even examine him unless he paid £3500. Not interested in his health insurance. They said he had Pneumonia and was confined to his cabin. Cost him £6000 in all and it might even have been Legionaries Disease!
saddletramp.bsky.social
Wow. Sorry about that. In hindsight do you wish you had paid the £100 or was it, as I’ve been hearing, not so bad now?
saddletramp.bsky.social
I hope not. It’s not 100% and due to the mutations of the virus, it might not even offer protection all year but if you’ve ever had flu, and I mean flu, not just a cold, you will jump at it. I’ve had flu twice in my live and on both occasions I didn’t even eat for two weeks it was that bad.
saddletramp.bsky.social
I’m surprised it’s not offered to all but a jab on the high street can be had for £15 or so. Well worth the money in my view.
saddletramp.bsky.social
If we all had a jab, we would see a massive reduction in flu cases, hospitalisations, and deaths, and the protective herd effect for the most vulnerable would be stronger than ever. It may not lead to the complete eradication of the virus but the practical public health benefit would be enormous.
saddletramp.bsky.social
I’ve just had my flu jab and I’m grateful for it. It won’t protect me against every strain but I’m confident it will protect me against the most common strains. Have you noticed though that those who won’t have it and are anxious tell you it’s all a con generally vote for Frogface!
Strange that!

I’m assuming they are on the basis that they have agreed to release 15 Gaza remains for every one Israeli remains.
saddletramp.bsky.social
For every Israeli hostage whose remains are released, under the Peace Plan, (28) Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans. That’s 420 dead bodies (15x28) One has to assume the Gazans were alive and well when captured, so how did they die whilst being held by the IDF?

Congratulations to Dame Sarah Mullally on becoming the 1st female Arch Bishop of Canterbury. She already has a seat in the Lords. The UK and the Islamic Rep. of Iran are the only two sovereign countries in the world to reserve seats as of right for unelected clerics in their national legislatures.
