Last night CNN reported on this. They are scanning all of the protestors’ faces. They are taking pictures of license plates. They are spying on people by accessing their phones’ data. All of this is being done to identify Americans and label them domestic enemies.

Knowing that authoritarianism feeds on apathy and people tuning out to save their own mental health is one thing but actually living it day to day is another. How do we not let this anger at the injustices curdle into hatred that is ultimately self destructive poison? I wish I knew the answer.
