Many people in Michigan, maybe even your neighbors, are eligible to have their criminal records cleared — but most never do because they don’t know where to start?
On Giving Tuesday (Dec. 2), we’ll raise $5,000 to host a free expungement fair in Michigan.

Being involved with the legal system costs. Even after a sentence is served, many people find they still have to pay back thousands of dollars in fines and fees. How does that hold back Michigan families and communities? Read our report to find out: bit.ly/DebtorsInPri...

How would you pay for groceries if all you earned was $2 or less a day? People who are incarcerated in prison are provided meals - but they are often unpalatable or insufficient. Good food is available from the commissary - but it will cost you.

What would you do if you were asked for a $171 copay each time you wanted to see a doctor? Would you pay it? Delay getting help? Even if it meant more pain and a harder recovery later?

It's the kind of decision someone in a Michigan prison is asked to make every time they need help.

Sure - "crime doesn't pay," but that's not half the truth. Going to prison is expensive - it costs money to get good food, personal hygiene items and to call home. Our report details the high cost of incarceration and gives a plan to reduce them. Read the report now: bit.ly/DebtorsInPri...
