A loud minority may be trying to divide us - but the truth is, most of us just want refugees to feel safe and at home.

We’ll never stop saying it: refugees belong here🧡

And yet, this Government continues to deny most Palestinians the right to reach safety & family here.

This can’t go on.

As long as people are denied safety — in Gaza, in the UK or anywhere else — we'll keep demanding safe routes & the right for every family to be together.

For the last two years, we’ve been fighting for Palestinian families to reunite in the UK. But the obstacles are immense.

Every day, we see children & parents asked for impossible evidence, unable to leave Gaza, forced into impossible choices about who to leave behind. 3/4

Children have paid the heaviest price. More than 20,000 have been killed in Gaza. That's one child lost every single hour.

Families separated by violence & displacement, or because their loved ones are held hostage, still don’t know if they’ll ever hold each other again. 2/4

Two years on, Gaza is still burning – and families are still torn apart.

Tens of thousands of lives lost in Gaza and 1,200 in Israel.

Millions displaced.

Families shattered by relentless bombardment, siege, and forced displacement, in what has become an ongoing genocide. 1/4

This should never be normal. Children risk these journeys because there are no safe alternatives to reach safety and their loved ones.

That's the direct result of restrictive policies that leave children with no other choice.

They are all part of the same system. To change this, we must demand a system that protects everyone, equally.

Refugee justice means racial justice. And racial justice means refugee justice.

This #BlackHistoryMonth and every month, we stand with Black refugees and communities whose experiences show us that the fight for safety is also a fight against racism.

Hostile borders, anti-refugee rhetoric and policies, and racist discrimination don’t exist in isolation.

📍Labour Party Conference, Liverpool

Migration may have dominated the headlines over the last few days, but this Government has yet to put forward compassionate policies to stop deaths in the Channel.

Here's the message we shared at our panel with the Safe Routes Coalition👇

Family reunion should be a right, not a fight. Yet with governments across Europe making it harder, countless children are still waiting for this moment. Donate today to help us reunite more families like Farzad's: www.safepassage.org.uk/donate?utm_s...

When death threats forced his parents and siblings to flee too, they turned to us to reunite with Farzad. Our legal team in France fought to secure their visas — until finally, after years of danger and waiting, Farzad finally hugged his mum and dad again.
safepassageintl.bsky.social
Farzad was just 14 when he had to leave Afghanistan, alone. Like many boys his age, he risked being recruited by the Taliban, and his dad’s activism made him an even bigger target. He made it safely to France, but the separation took a devastating toll on the family.

This government need to change direction urgently, or they will be condemning more refugees to the same fate. We can't stand to see more children, women, and men die needlessly.

Three weeks ago, the Government suspended Refugee Family Reunion — one of the few ways mostly women and children could reach their loved ones safely. And today, the Home Secretary is expected to announce even harsher migration policies.

A child, two women, and a man tragically died trying to reach the UK over the weekend. Their lives were not lost to chance, but to choices: choices to shut down safe routes and leave people with no option but to take dangerous journeys.

Imagine being a child, separated from your parents, and seeing your last option to reunite with them stripped away by the government. That’s what just happened a few weeks ago.

We won’t let children pay the price — share this video and spread the word.

Yesterday, thousands of people gathered across the UK to reject hate politics. It's a reminder that there's so many of us who choose compassion and justice. We won't back down.
safepassageintl.bsky.social
What we’ve seen on our streets in the last few days is a chilling warning: we can't allow division and hostility to win. History has taught us where this road leads and we refuse to go back.
