I agree that these things suck, but I just don't think that people are really put off of things because of the other side seeming flaky. It might get made fun of, people might get dragged for it, but it presents this as something where if you just committed they'd agree. I don't think that's true.

I don't believe this. Democrats taking things extremely seriously just leads to Republicans pushing back with as much ferocity. There's not some point where Dems say something with conviction and the right goes "they must have a point."

Watched TGA with some friends at my place and the overwhelming reaction to Highguard was "oh, cool, we love Titanfall, we should give this a shot when it comes out." Going online and seeing a complete blastwaste surprised me.

If this is the bookstore in Oslo that I think it is, when I went there with friends in August I was mostly just surprised that they had a whole section for this.

I work at a movie theater and huge amounts of our pre-roll is already AI-generated slop. It's so harrowing. It's only going to get worse from here. "Liking an ad" was already tertiary to watching it and remembering it, they don't care if it's artful. It'll be everywhere. It fucking sucks.

It's totally fair for someone to expect their partner to be self-sufficient, and if you can't pay for anything I can understand why that'd be offputting, but nobody I've ever been with has cared about me paying for everything.

I know that it was a high-budget, highly-marketed game from a AAA studio so any "underdog" talk can ring a bit hollow, but I still feel like a champion for saying that it was an all-timer from day one, warts and all. The team made something really special. I'm glad everyone knows that, now.

I only started using dating apps around two months ago and I've found the AI/socials stuff to be totally fine (in Kansas, which is a qualifier). The real trouble is that, of the seven dates I've planned, none of them have happened and every single time they've just ghosted me or stood me up. Hurts!

I guess it's good to know that some people prefer this, because I can't stand it. It feels so bad to have really hit it off with someone and for them to just disappear. There's nothing learned or gained, there, just a void.

SO MUCH of western otaku culture comes from Toonami in particular and how having a really clear authorial curated voice in a "if you like this, try this" way was great for introducing unfamiliar things

It kind of rocks, IMO. It reminds me of something like Render96 - feels like realizing what bullshots of a game might've looked like. I probably would've preferred a straight port, Nightdive-style, but at least the one we're getting is weird and artistically unique.
