2 more years and the horse can drive

hey, the world is completely nuts right now but our game dev studio @younghorses.com turned 14 years old today and that's pretty neat!
Octodad gingerly holding Bunger and Strabby from Bugsnax in his arms as they look to him.

The text reads, "Thank you for 14 great years!" but it's clearly a reused image because you can see the numbers 12, 11, and 10 crossed out. The Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Bugsnax, and Young Horses logos can also be seen.

Sorry, that sounds so dire, hahaha. What I'm really saying is; it's important to have support. Bootstraps narratives fed us the idea we should be able to do everything alone and with art, or any creative practice, it's not that it's not possible per say but its needlessly more lonely and difficult.

At the risk of rambling as I'm one to do, I think the practice of being an artist and wider living doesn't oblige itself to the confines of how our housing, food security, ect. systems work and so keeping a partner (romantic, business, platonic, ect.) is just seeking community support at its core!

100%. Endlessly grateful for my partner who also handles the "normal human stuff" 💀

I DO! I took some from the outside of Hohoza (Kyoto) and I believe I have some from Furby Noise as well.

YAYY!! I'd love to! (Def let me know if/when you have a deadline in mind!)

Similar for more illustrative art positions but I imagine even the rate for "clean up" is zilch. I do sincerely think the use of AI art will disappear in both professional & indie spaces, it's just the wait that makes me want to pull my teeth out.

Ohhh, I love Popotame too! There are so many cool zine spaces in Tokyo (Furby Noise cafe in Koenji was one of my faves but it recently closed) I was thinking about haku & a few others in Kyoto! Since the artist residency last year I noticed it might be worth touching on zine shops outside of Tokyo!

A photo of an Aarvark on its hind legs against a white background. The aarvark's head is raised and curious.

I've heard countless folks say "I can't even draw a stick figure" and let me tell you, that squiggly hand-drawn line will always have more heart and expression than any AI art could ever have.
sagecoffey.bsky.social
I really hope so! It's disheartening to see how many job listings are calling for slop in creative positions across game dev, illustration and animation...There's a lot of heart in drawing, acting & writing that AI and the people who call themselves "AI artists" (yuck) will never be able to capture.

Uhm, that's actually Linda Burgers from Bob's Burgers.

Same question but I def want to write about some I had gone to in Japan.

Folks just need to let Silent Hill be folk-horror that evolves and changes over time!! It's that simple. Even ones that """"fit into the lore"""" like SH: Shattered Memories are much more fun if you come into it without the expectation of advancing a narrative you already know the ending to.

Anyone else flying fairly soon really worried about how the government shut down is going to effect the already understaffed and overworked Airport Traffic Controller situation or just me? 🧍

Fundraising is very challenging, especially these days. Our co-founder @prisonculture.bsky.social will be offering a workshop on grassroots fundraising for organizers next Saturday, October 11th.

This is 1 of 3 Communiversity courses ⬇️ we're offering that day, all in-person in NYC, sliding scale:

Depending on each ship's knots (unit of speed), they should arrive in 3-4 hours! (At a glance on the tracker, most are travelling 3-7 knots)

Yeah, some folks are trying to figure out how many nautical miles are left in the livestream's chat but its moving fast. It looked like they hit some choppy waters earlier in the stream and that can effect speed for sure.

I just have no words but love and support for the folks on the floatillas. I really hope the Fair Lady is able to make it since they're a decent bit aways from those being intercepted....
