Not a writer, but I think there's a way. I bought a webcomic earlier this year and while you can't tell on the "storefront" page, the downloads page tells you when the files were updated last.
A list of pdf files and their sizes. Filename format is "Chapter" followed by the chapter number. A list of available pdf downloads.in addition to a generic filename and file size, each file indicates when it was uploaded.

The movie was amazing and the game was good despite ending in a disappointing loss.

Our other two cats were curled up on my legs and didn't make it into the selfie.

Two sailors in hard hats are walking towards the boat the John Sherwin on a bright morning. She's tied up at a dock next to concrete grain elevators. The sailors are wearing white hard hats. One is wearing jeans and a flannel shirt and the other is in jeans and a black T-shirt and has a Harley Davidson sticker on the back of his hard hat. D grain elevators are massive concrete cylinders with spindly arms attached that can be lowered into cargo on a vessel to unload it. The Sherwin is a massive boat, painted a rusty red. The paint is rusting and flaking off in places. White lettering says "JOHN SHERWIN THE INTERLAKE STEAMSHIP COMPANY" You can see the bridge at the bow is paint white and covered in rust. White draft markings are visible. They are numbers running vertically up the bow, counting up from 21 to 28. Cables stretch from the boat to bollards on the dock. The port side anchor is in the river with the chain hanging down. The waterline where she had been resting for a long time is visible about 8 to 10 feet above the current water line. The hull between the current and past water lines is covered with what looks like a layer of dried algae. The starboard anchor is tucked away in its storage spot about halfway up the hull. It is covered in mud and streaks of mud are running down from it. The bridge is a white structure with windows all around it and various instruments and antennae on top of it. A pile of sprouting wheat on the deck of the John Sherwin. The front of the pile is primarily a pile of light brown, almost bordering on yellow or gold, wheat with patches of bright green grass. The middle looks like a lawn with empty patches and a couple clods of dirt. The back of the looks like dirt with some grass growing. The pile is in front of a yellow rail on the deck and next to a hatch. The deck and hatch are painted a rusty red and the paint is flaking and rusting off, especially on the top of the hatch. The hatch is about a foot and a half to two feet tall and is rimmed with clamps, which are mostly dangling except for a couple pairs of clamps holding down the hatch lid. There is a yellow loop of metal welded in the middle of one side of the hatch lid. There is a small rotting section of mooring line on the deck next to to the pile of grain. Seeds have fallen onto the line and into the creases between the strands of the rope. Green sprouts of grass are starting to grow on it. A view of the hatches on the deck of the John Sherwin, looking forward from the aft end on a cloudy day. Some hatches have a later of wet grain scattered on them. The red paint is peeling away from the hatch covers, revealing bare steel. Each one is held down by a couple pairs of clamps spaced out on the hatch. Two yellow metal loops are on each hatch cover. A rusty white hatch crane is at the center of the boat. If looks like a white bar in the middle of the deck above the hatches, running from the port to the starboard sides. A long spindly appendage from the dock is sticking into the hold near the middle of the boat. It runs vertically to a joint where it slows down to the massive concrete cylinder it is a part of.
