To stand where Christ would have stood, as reveled in the Gospels.

You are absolutely correct, it shouldn’t be a debate. People are being killed, harmed, and kidnapped. What is happening should be reprehensible and deeply disturbing to everyone. Debate is great, but not at the expense of lives.

It’s what every “Christian” should do, or at least good humans. Especially when people are harmed. I grew up in the evangelical church. When I came out, I found out that love is conditional. I created and founded HCCoG because of evangelicalism and nationalism. To be a church willing to stand up.

What infuriates me is the silence, especially of churches. They are watching as their members and neighbors are being yanked from their homes, stopped illegally, even killed, yet silence. The people doing this want to claim they are Christians, makes me ill. I pray that Liam and his Dad are spared.

Not yet, unfortunately. I have been keeping an eye out on my PACER account for any new order indicating problems. So far, it’s all been procedural. What is happening to both Liam and his Dad is beyond inhumane…

He also stacked the court so that he could get broad presidential immunity as well as overturn Roe v. Wade. One might be surprised that, as clergy, I despise the Dobbs decision…I believe all life is sacred, but also in the right of a mother to make choices for herself, her body, and her health.

An informed citizenry is a huge threat to him. Those who just for power don’t like limitations placed on it. They hate especially being told “no”…
January 27, 2026 at 9:23 PM
You are correct. However, the problem with authoritarians (and narcissists for that matter) is that they don’t believe the rules apply to them. He reminds me of Emperor Nero sometimes. While there are no legal means to stop elections, that may not stop him from trying…

It shouldn’t have come as a surprise to him. We are a democrat stronghold here.
January 27, 2026 at 8:41 PM
Of course they are. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t just itching to cancel midterms; just needs a catalyst…So far, none of the blue States are giving him what he wants…
January 27, 2026 at 8:38 PM
I mean, fair is fair. It is interesting how plenty of conservative Christians emphasize Paul’s teachings on obeying authority, yet the moment a judge signs an order to show cause (and/or to appear) suddenly become really defiant…

If they don’t want to leave peacefully and quickly, I would expect nothing less. They have overstayed their welcome here. I know it’s folly to hope that they will leave peacefully on their own, but I’m prepared to support my fellow clergy and neighbors if ICE decides to overstay their welcome there.

My prayers are with you. Been in Iowa a lot when I stayed with family who had moved to southern Minnesota. It was faster to go grocery shopping in Iowa than it was to stay in Minnesota. I can only hope and pray that they leave Iowa quickly, and peacefully.

Thank you so much! I wish they had that contact information listed elsewhere.

Any help you can provide would indeed be a great blessing!

Well, and the fact we have voted blue for many years. Plus, Bondi wants our voting rolls. I'm proud that our State officials told them to keep her to keep her paws off what isn't hers.

What is it with them and picking cold climates? As a Minnesotan, know that this State is with the State of Maine in spirit. We believe in you. And, when you guys inevitably run them out (and you will, we have faith in you), don't let them forget what they did in MN. Stay Safe!

Every time I see him, I can't help but think of Colonel Miles from Avatar (he and Bovino could go bowling together...probably would find a lot in common...)

I figured they weren't done with us...If we have learned anything from history, power doesn't give up that easily.

Lord Acton, in a letter, once wrote these immortal words "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

I can only hope that they wind down operations...

Today wasn't the greatest day, and it came with its trials and unknowns. However, be that as it may, I am satisfied with how today has gone.

Again, I thank all of you. God bless you all, and continue to pray for the State of Minnesota. I have faith that we will be delivered from ICE soon enough, but until that time I will continue to speak out.

lastly, I couldn't be prouder of my Colleagues who have showed up and stood up.

I want to make it clear that I have no tolerance for churches that do harm to their members; this tradition (denomination) was born out of my own experiences and those of the people I initial served when I was ordained; I vowed that my church will not be like many others.
