now, those white ppl in the 10% minority arent NOT racist, dont get me wrong lol. but you cant get away with being outright hateful like you might in majority-white environments, and it takes more mental gymnastics to believe in white superiority when yr black peers are outperforming you

and at least in my experience, that typically shakes out as "majority-black main city, majority-white outskirts" (each of those being <50k population). and discrepancies build over time from funding allocations, ppl with the means pulling their kids out of lower-performing schools, etc

it may not explicitly be abt indigenous stewardship, but the core conflict is still btwn an extractive/colonialist relationship with the land and a sustainable one that views humans as a part of nature & ecosystems!
