The actions of Macquarie Uni are deplorable. They have also been dragged in front of Fair Work. The @nteunion.bsky.social uncovered they decided to go “all the way” in forcing 65 highly skilled ppl out of work when they could have achieved their objectives without this pain.

Thanks to NTEU members at MQ who spoke out about the harm of workplace changes to staff mental health and wellbeing.

Gerry Harvey was just asked if workers sould benefit from productivity gains by moving towards a four-day week.
His response: — “No, no, no they need an eight-day week to lift productivity”.
A reminder: Australians work some of the longest hours in the OECD.

Bosses blast union productivity comments as ‘a distraction’

It would be nice if it were true. Employers DO NOT automatically transfer extra money they get from higher productivity to workers. In fact they have been keeping most of it for decades now.

The Wheel of Misfortune where every prize is a cut if you vote for Dutton has been making appearances at polling booths. There is even a “Gina Rinehart special prize” where you lose everything!

Excellent @sallymcmanus.bsky.social on #AfternoonBriefing deftly pointing out the absurdity of the LNP claiming HECS relief is “elitist”. The rich pay their children’s university fees upfront. The poor incur debts that can last their entire lives #auspol
