We have so many cat things, ledges, window seats, scratching and climbing things. If we had any more cat friendly, we wouldn't have anyplace for us. I think it's more that they have no boundaries. I've never said no to him before.
salomekjones.bsky.social
Very clever. This could work. I'll try it.
salomekjones.bsky.social
I could close him out of the kitchen but it would be sad because there's a room that he loves on the opposite side. And they'd all be locked out (we have three.) I have thought of putting orange oil there. They generally don't like citrus. I might try it. I just put double sided tape on. We'll see.
salomekjones.bsky.social
True. Usually it's not him who does this. So surprising.
salomekjones.bsky.social
Well, this will be on the outside. Eventually I'll redo the doors so I'll take it off. I guess I should do it when he's asleep. I might have to babygate him out of the kitchen. But ask her if she was e4ver able to take the sticky tape off?
salomekjones.bsky.social
haha That might work. I should do it before fixing the cupboard fronts in case it destroys them more. Good idea.
salomekjones.bsky.social
And by the way, nothing that happened this morning stopped him trying to get in. He's out of time out now (and our youngest looked at me like "why was I in time out? I didn't do anything.) I know this is because we let them do what they want most of the time. But usually they don't want much. 8/x

I need Jackson Galaxy. I did think of putting the motion detector compressed air in front of it but I can't find it here. I'd have to order from the UK a motion detector for spray cans and separate spray cans. Not sure if it would get through customs. 7/

I decided to clear out the cabinet and try to make sure it was safe for him. In the process something spilled, got on my leg and burned me, damaged the new floor (so it's really not safe for him) and I don't eve n know what it was. So much for just letting him go in there. 6/

Our battle started with me saying "No!" and him talking back (MAH!) It has escalated to me putting him in time out while I try to figure out a solution. Last night I turned my back on him,, which usually works. It did work last night but this morning he was at it again. 5/

Since our friend left on Tuesday, cat has tried to get inside every day. Normally I would just let him, but there are chemicals in there, and if he gets into that tunnel, I suspect it's where all the electrics start (stove, oven, dishwasher) and it doesn't seem safe+ we can't reach him in there. 4/

So now our oldest, who's 9 and is usually the calmest and best, has decided to destroy the cabinet fronts trying to get into the cabinet under the sink. I'm going to have to redo three doors. The worse thing is he got inside once and found out there's a tunnel that goes behind all the cabinets. 3/

I've spent weeks redecorating our kitchen, putting new fronts on the cupboards, new floor, moving things around so that we have more usable space. This past week we had our first guest si8nce Covid. (I'm immune compromised). Our cats had a great time with our friend. 2/

I know this is trivial in a world where violent lunatics are destroying everything, but for the first time ever, my cat best friend and I are in a fight. I need cat parent advice. Ready? 1/

Dear @netflix.com I'd like to ask you to remove shows with Elon Musk or other billionaires. Please leave the lovely trans people where they are. We enjoy having them around.

I suffer from cptsd. I had a rough upbringing, though not as rough as some. But still, this sitch in America pushed me into a weird state where I couldn't write or even understand work I read for some months. I am pleased to announce I'm back to writing and I can actually see where I went awry. 😁❤️🐈‍⬛🦒

Upon returning to Brussels, Marx engaged in "ceaseless procrastination", according to his biographer Francis Wheen. Working only intermittently on the Manifesto, Marx spent much of his time delivering lectures on political economy at the German Workers' Education Association, writing articles for the Deutsche-Brüsseler-Zeitung, and giving a long speech on free trade. Following this, he even spent a week (17–26 January 1848) in Ghent to establish a branch of the Democratic Association. Having not heard from Marx for nearly two months, the Central Committee of the Communist League sent him an ultimatum on 24 or 26 January, demanding he submit the completed manuscript by 1 February. This imposition spurred Marx on, who struggled to work without the pressure of a deadline, and he seems to have rushed to finish the job in time. As evidence of the haste, historian Eric Hobsbawm points to the absence of any extant preliminary drafts; only one Manifesto draft page has ever been located.

I have so many friends in Portland because I went to grad school in Oregon. Here's the message I got today about the "war zone" which I knew was no a war zone, anyway.
There is no war zone. Protest at the ICE facility have been going on for months. Peaceful for the most part but I drive all over Portland and I haven't seen any pf the crap they say is happening here. The news clips they're showing are from five years ago after George Floyd was murdered. There were protest at Pioneer Square in the two blocks around there for about two weeks. Again, five years ago.

Indeed. I'm with him all the way.

lol it's the way it is so corporations that provide services can make billions of dollars. Profit and medicine don't belong together. It's not socialism. imo.
