One of my favourite images I've taken, the International Space Station transiting the moon. A rare night when it all came together.

A few of September's astro highlights with the dwarf3 smartscope.
The collage contains Andromeda galaxy, the Coathanger, the Teddy Bear, Pacman, Horsehead & Flame & Dark Shark nebula
Its an amazing device👍

M31, Andromeda Galaxy our closest galactic neighbour at 2.5 million light years away
Every star you see is in our own milkyway

A view of Andromeda, M31, crossing the frame in a diagonal aspect, shot with a smart telescope, the Dwarflabs Dwarf 3,
1 hr 55 minutes of data, each shot 60 seconds exposure, 60 gain, Astro filter, and under a nearly full moon

Fortunatley, after a long wait, the moon found the gap
My first view this cycle and its 12.5% lit waxing crescent

Youbgot the timing right 👍

Nice 👍, I did look but clouds won here
salopchris.bsky.social
Heres the original pic used to get the contrail illuminated, plus the moon shot was added to get something similar to the visual scene, 👍
salopchris.bsky.social
It is supppsed to describe the scene and helps the algorithm, I like to look at it if posted for more info, its a good place to put settings without cluttering up the main post, would help if it made sense though 😂

Lol, that'll stop the AI agents 😉 #fatfingers

This is Caldwell 11, the bubble nebula that really looks like its name when zoomed in.
With the nearby scorpion cluster, M52, also in frame on the left and NGC7538 emission nebula on the right, home to a protostar that is the size of 300 solar systems!!! (wiki)

This is the crescent nebula C27 located at the heart of the constellation of Cygnus,
Formed by strong stellar wind of HD192163, a Wolf Rayet star, a hot old massive star rapidly losing mass.

It's a banger Pete 😉, a difficult object for the little dwarf, but well done for getting on it, any supernova to report?

Just need a break in the weather, I had six targets, but i captured before the starting day, so deleted my post, still I have the shots to add to new versions 😉
And yes, due to its "simplicity" once you start, you just can't stop😂
salopchris.bsky.social
Check out the summer challenge, 20 targets on there, some out of reach admittedly for us, but plenty of others, some youve done recently 👍
salopchris.bsky.social
Astonished, even from the first shot, so much colour, but it is in my darkest sky, looking over to mid wales, but considering elevation, well pleased 👍

M8, the lagoon nebula, first time I've imaged this, Its the 2nd brightest nebula in the night sky, it was only 11 degrees high and doesn't get much higher for me, so I'm pretty pleased with how the Dwarf 3 smartscope caught this, all in just 9 minutes 30 seconds of data

M8, the lagoon nebula in Sagitarius, low on the horizon, the bright red hydrogen emission nebula, on visible in the summer months, close to the core of the milkyway

Thanks, yes, I've passed that way many, many times, my father-in-law(many years retired) owned a textile shop, located just 30 yards behind that shot 😉👍

Once the weather improves, you'll be itching to get back into it, also if you shoot the same target on another night, you can combine all the data from each session on megastack feature, imagine 20 hours on a single target, just like proper astro!!! 😉
