The populist/reactionary right is constantly telling people the way their lives are currently being lived is bad and should be changed. Yglesias has no response to that

Gaza cost Dems the election. That’s just what it is. Take from that whatever lesson you will
November 28, 2025 at 1:09 AM
There’s enough data since this tweet to make the calculation that Gaza definitely contributed heavy to the Dem loss in 2024

The memory of 2020 still holds strong. Also just the way he is in interviews and how he is on Israel rubs some people wrong. He engages too much in vague platitudes and seems like the perfect Obama-esque politician. His Military background also bothers Chapo in particular, most ppl don’t care though

It’s partially residue from him being Bernie’s first enemy in 2020. They viewed him as a generic establishment candidate propped up to stop him. The Chapo types still view him as generic Democrat enemy #1 who doesn’t really believe in anything and upholds the status quo.

China doesn’t even have a real socialist economy anymore, it’s just a centralized state that guides and heavily regulates the market-based economy. Piker does fetishize them to an annoying degree though
