I really wish money weren't such a touchy subject for people. Like, I'm so tired of getting weird looks or comments, especially from close family who rely on each other's finances, when I'm just trying to have an open conversation about money/affordability of certain things

I was still occasionally checking Twitter for updates from Hololive and other creators that haven't moved over here yet, but it just doesn't feel worth it anymore for even that. It feels too manic, too sharp for me now. I guess this is my official goodbye forever to Twitter. It's been...something.

I think this is the year I try to get into Discworld

I think the difference between a good book and a great book is whether it changes you. I have read many wonderful books which I adore, but which have not changed me. And I have books where I can trace the marks they've left on me, where I can see that I was a different person before and after them.

Sometimes you try a new app and it feels like you're a fish in a new stream. You belong in the water but you just need to figure out how the currents run here before you can call it home. This is about storygraph for me - not sure how I have gone this long without getting set up there!

I think The Night Circus really affected my taste from quite a young age. I'm not sure when I first read it - must have been late elementary school or middle school. But just about every aspect is something I still carry with me in my daily life. Perhaps I could be considered a rêveur, myself 🌹

Oh I like storygraph! I think it will be helpful in keeping track of this year's reading

Happy New Year! 🎊

Wishing everyone a peaceful and fruitful 2026. May the chaos of 2025 be settled, and may we all have a little much-needed rest.

Aaaaaahh my friends and I are reviving our book club that has been dead for a year and a half. I'm so happy!! We're gonna read terrible terrible books together and make fun of them. This is community 😌

My sibling and I drove crosscountry over the holidays to visit family and these are some of the pictures I most liked from our trip

I have a fatal disease which makes me buy far more books than I have time to read, and at a pace which I cannot feasibly match with my reading. But it makes me happy to see my shelves overflowing, to have a book within reach on practically every surface in my home. One day I'll read them all. Maybe.

Man I've had a killer headache all day - idk why I'm being lazy and not taking anything for it 😵‍💫

I really love the pronoun tags on here and that they show up on every post, so you never have to guess or hope they have it in their bio. Really convenient. With bsky being a little more lively lately too I'm really enjoying myself here - I can feel twt becoming a relic of the past in real time 😊

Happy New Year's Eve! Is anyone doing resolutions this year? I've been writing mine down and snapping a photo for the last few years, and I find it fun to see where I've succeeded and where I should turn my focus for the next year, which helps guide me in writing my new list of resolutions.

I've started rereading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and it's just as good as I remember. The magic, the mystery, the aesthetics - it just ticks so many boxes for me!

Just had my first ever taste of Culver's and it was delicious - thank you Nerissa Ravencroft for opening my eyes to wonderful wonderful flavors! 💙

I love seeing snippets of random discourse I don't care about and being grateful I'm not involved enough to have a strong opinion about whatever it is people are fighting about today

Aaaa I will be patient I will be patient BUT I really want to read the next book in my series and it doesn't come out til 2027 😭

It's of course worth the wait for wonderful art but my brain is hungry for it 😵‍💫

I'm loving all the art I'm seeing on here - a combination of all the people moving over again after another Twitter fuckup and also I finally learned how the feeds function works here 😂

Bought 4 new books today and my brother teased me for expanding my "mini library" to 10 books (7 novels, 2 notebooks, 1 sketchbook) while we're travelling. I can't help myself! I see bookstore, I must go to bookstore, I must purchase books. Very simple

Thanks to those who are fungus-posting this holiday season it's made me very happy to see all the little mushrooms and toadstools that have formed
December 26, 2025 at 1:21 AM
Spent most of today asleep. The holidays are draining, even though I'm happy to be around family that I haven't seen for over 5 years. Things are freaking hectic where I am right now! Seems like they may be a little hectic at home too, though. Perhaps that's just the holiday spirit haha
